Anthony Frank Biastro

HUBBARD Anthony Frank Biastro (Tony) of Hubbard, OH died peacefully with his wife at his side on February 1, 2017 following an extensive illness. Tony was born on February 25, 1948 to Michael and Madeline (Bisso) Biastro in Youngstown. Tony was raised in Briar Hill, Youngstown, Ohio and was a graduate of The Rayen High School in 1966. Following high school, Tony enlisted in the United States Army where he joined the 25th Infantry (1966 – 1969) and proudly served his country as a combat soldier. During his time in Viet Nam he was awarded the National Defense Medal, Viet Nam Campaign medal, and the Viet Nam Service medal. He married the love of his life, Anita, on July 17, 1971. Tony retired from Delphi in 2003, following 31 years of service. Tony was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767, and the Hubbard Conservation Club. During his free time, Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid gardener, and loved spending time with his grandsons.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Mike (1983), Madeline (2011), and his sister Mary (Mickey) Williams (2008).

Tony leaves behind his wife Anita (Smith) Biastro, of Hubbard, OH daughter Carla (Benjamin) Beaty, grandsons Maxwell & Jacob of Cincinnati, OH, son Michael of Cleveland, Ohio and three sisters Joann (Ronald) Seman of Youngstown, OH, Phyllis (James) Reinert of Clifton Park, NY, and Terrie (Jeff) Svoboda of Hayes, VA as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A private memorial service was held at Hubbard Church of the Nazarene on February 10, 2017, with full military honors provided by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard Post No. 540.

There were no calling hours.
