HUBBARD A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church for Carol Ann Ruby (nee Orlando), 70, who passed into the next life on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Beloved wife of Stephen P. Ruby III who she adored to the fullest for 17 years. She was born October 16, 1945 to the late Anthony and Ann Orlando. Sister of Mary Ann Long (Thomas), Chagrin Falls, OH. Cherished aunt of Mathew Long of Jersey City, NJ and Meredith Long of Denver, CO. She was the proud step-mother of Tamara Moore and Vicki Nutter both of Hubbard and Kristy (Eric) Metz of Rogers, OH. Grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Ursuline High School followed by an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University, Master’s degree from Kent State University and a PhD candidate at Akron University. She retired from Youngstown State University as an administrative assistant and was a liaison for the Director of Public Relations, in the Audio Visual department she converted manual inventory to a computerized system. She was an accomplished sales representative employed by Kraft Food Service managing over 150 accounts. She was also a media specialist at Trumbull County Vocational Center as well as an elementary teacher at Joseph Badger District in Kinsman, OH. Memorable journeys were with her beloved Steve and other dear friends to France, Italy, Scotland, England, Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Canada as well as through the United States. Carol was active in the Youngstown State University Retirees Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Education Society, Women’s Club, Youngstown State University Alumni Association, a Sunday School teacher at St. Patrick’s, Junior Women’s Advisor, Sigma Sigma Sigma Social Sorority, Newman Club and the Burgnarese Ladies Society. She was an active volunteer at St. Patrick Church, the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, American Diabetes Association, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Liberty Health Care Center and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was fun, independent, strong, sensitive, loving and caring to those who knew her best. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral Mass at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
