John J. Longo

HUBBARD Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Carter officiating for John J. Longo, 63, who died Wednesday afternoon January 17, 2018 at Hospice House. He was born November 15, 1954 in Cleveland, OH a son of William and Clarann Madeline Longo.

Mr. Longo, a 1973 graduate of Hubbard High School, worked in the shipping department for Brockway, formerly U.S. Can / Ball Corporation for 44 years, before retiring in 2017. He had a very strong Christian faith and was a member of the Believers Church in Warren, OH. He enjoyed running sound for local bands and churches, as well as playing guitar, bass and building sound systems. John coached Hubbard Little Eagles football for over 3 decades. He made his own sauce, pasta and wedding soup from scratch every Christmas keeping with the family tradition. Most of all John was a very loving and giving person, especially to his family.

He leaves his wife, the former Carolyn F. Keaggy, whom he married July 22, 1983; three sons, Paul Longo of Columbiana, Joel (Rachel) Longo of Columbus and Daniel (Katelyn) Longo of Niles; a sister, Julie (Ron) Vargo and one grandson, Jonathon Longo.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Interment will be at Morefield Cemetery.
