AUSTINTOWN Thomas E. Bender, 70, died Tuesday morning November 22, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman. He was born October 12, 1946 in Orville, OH, a son of Wilson D. and Nettie M. Caskey and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Bender, a graduate of Jackson Milton High School, was a spark tester for RMI Titanium for 45 years, retiring in 2010. Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting, was Ohio State’s #1 Fan, and on Halloween 2016 he finally earned his horns, which only took him 70 years.

He leaves his wife, the former Jeanmarie Hack, whom he married August 27, 1984; three daughters, Lisa Bender of Niles, Stacey Bender of Warren and Sara Bender of Howland; two sisters, Jeanne (Ken) Bell of Cambridge, OH and Carole Burt of Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Stewart, Robert Ague and Skylar Ague and 1 great granddaughter, Emma Stewart.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald J. Miller; a sister, Rhonda Foor and a son, Steven T. Bender.

Per Tom’s request a caring cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours or services.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the entire staff at Humility House for their wonderful care and to the girls in Intensive Care at St. Elizabeth’s in Boardman.
