William T. Benner

NORTH LIMA William T. Benner, 69, died Sunday July 9, 2017 at his home. He was born December 26, 1947 in Youngstown, a son of Robert T. and Anna M. O’Leary Benner and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Benner, a graduate of Vienna High School served with the United States Army.

Bill worked in the B & B Department of Norfolk Southern for 34 years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767, the Hubbard Post 51 of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Bill enjoyed gardening, old cars, playing cards and golfing.

He leaves a daughter, Michelle Benner of Poland; a brother, Richard Benner of Vienna and a sister, Jean Benner Hedrick of Chapel Hill, NC.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karla Benner and a brother, Gerald T. Benner.

A Celebration of life honoring Bill will be held on Friday July 14, 2017 at 5:00 PM at the Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767.

Bill’s final resting place will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery with his daughter Karla.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2044 Youngstown Rd. SE, Warren, OH 44484.
