Charles R. Taylor Sr.

HUBBARD Charles R. Taylor Sr., 89, died Wednesday evening April 24, 2019 at Avalon Springs Place Nursing Home in Mercer, PA. He was born March 31, 1930 in Sharon, PA a son of Russell J. and Alice M. Minner Taylor.

Mr. Taylor, a graduate of Hickory High School attended Youngstown College. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Charles was an industrial engineer for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 28 years, retiring in 1983. Charles was a member of the Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767, enjoyed golfing and golfed on the VFW League at Donnybrook golf course. He also bowled in a church league.

His wife, the former Doloris J. Scannella, whom he married December 29, 1951, died July 18, 2018.

Charles leaves three sons, Charles Taylor Jr. and his wife Debra of New Wilmington, PA, David Taylor and his wife Helene on Surfside Beach, SC and Keith Taylor and his wife Tamela of Akron; a daughter, Alison Martinez of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Larry Taylor of West Middlesex, PA; a sister, Marge Holsapfel of Hermitage; three grandchildren, Stephanie Cimperman and her husband John, Debra Nicole Taylor and Autumn Taylor and one great grandson, Christian Charles Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doloris, a son, Alan Taylor and a sister, Dorothy Kennedy.

There are no calling hours or funeral services.

Charles final resting place will be at America’s Cemetery in Hermitage, PA.
