Joseph Frank Cooper Sr.

HUBBARD Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home for Joseph Frank Cooper Sr. 85, who lost his second battle to cancer Friday, October 26, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 9, 1933 in Youngstown, a son of John G. and Mary Elizabeth (Sanders) Cooper.

Joe married his childhood sweetheart, Sara Joann Jones on May 21, 1953. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1953 to 1955. Joe worked at Commercial Shearing in Youngstown until 1964, when he left to open and run his own business, Joe’s Auto Body until retiring at the age of 70.

Joe enjoyed working on cars, hunting, dirt bike riding with the boys and watching NASCAR and his westerns on TV. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, having many picnics, bonfires and family dinners at his home. He had such a big heart and was always willing to help others.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sara; his son, John Cooper (Cyndi); two daughters, Shari Cooper and Laurie Welch (Jay); 6 grandchildren, John Cooper Jr. (Heather), Heather Langley (Rusty), Julie Cooper (Justin), Brock Oros (Ashley) and Samantha and Sierra Welch; 7 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Abbigail Langley, Riley and Kasey Cooper, Payson and Bryson Vingle and Brooklyn Oros, all of whom he cherished dearly.  Joe also leaves behind a brother, Richard Cooper (Shirley) of Salem, SC and 3 sisters, Veronica Sheets of Haines City, FL, Margaret Bindas of Youngstown and Mary Ann Perry of Canfield.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest son, Joey and 2 brothers, Bill and John Cooper.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday October 30, 2018, two hours prior to the funeral services from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
