HUBBARD A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Paul W. Fricker, 90, who died Friday morning October 5, 2018 at Heritage Manor. He was born April 8, 1928 in Hubbard at his home a son of George E. and Rose E. Ryhal Fricker and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Fricker, a 1946 graduate of Hubbard High School, served with the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a former member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Paul was a chief clerk for the Erie Railroad for 43 years and had been a bartender at the original Manhattan Bar in Hubbard for 24 years. He enjoyed gardening and mowing his lawn with his John Deer tractor. He loved to sing and sang in a barbershop quartet and in his later years enjoyed strolling down the hall of Elmwood Assisted Living singing to everyone. Paul was also an avid Cleveland sports fan.
His wife, the former Julia A. Fecych, whom he married September 15, 1951, died April 3, 2013.
He leaves a son, Richard W. Fricker of Hubbard; two daughters, Lynne Stiver and her husband Jeff of Hubbard and Christine Julian and her husband Michael of Dublin; two sisters, Shirley DeVeto and her husband Jim of Hubbard and DeLaine Koeliliker of Hubbard; 6 grandchildren, Jason Stiver and his wife Katelyn, Christopher Stiver and his wife Rachel, Tony Julian, Jamie Julian, Jacob Fricker and Jenna Fricker and 1 great grandson, Jay Alonzo Stiver.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel P. Fricker and two brothers, Harry Fricker and Billy Fricker.
Family and friends may call on Friday October 12, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Paul’s angels at Elmwood Assisted Living, Heritage Manor and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
