Mildred V. (Galentine) Stamp

YOUNGSTOWN On June 4, 2016, Mildred V. Stamp, 96, went home to heaven, and she is resting in the gentle arms of Jesus. She was born August19, 1919 in Rayne, PA, a daughter of Charles and Effie Miller Galentine. She moved to Youngstown in 1957.

Millie, a homemaker, was a member of the New Hope Church in Boardman. She loved listening to hymns, her favorite being How Great Thou Art. Millie enjoyed reading her Bible and books, working crossword puzzles and baking, especially pies and giving them away for everyone to enjoy. She loved all flowers especially red roses and birds too. She always gave everyone she met a big hug and told them she loved them. All who met Millie loved her kind spirit and generous heart.

Her husband, Chester Stamp, whom she married December 24, 1937, passed away in 1984.

She leaves two sons, Chester Jack (Wanda) Stamp of Andover and Terry (Shannon) Stamp of Boardman; three daughters, Carole (Kenneth) Clark of Vienna, Phyllis Ross of Youngstown, Susan (Edward) Gonda of Boardman; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Duane, a son Allan Dale Stamp; 6 brothers and sisters and a grandson, Nick Evans.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
